Sunrise is a movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process.
We’re building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.

The movement consists of tens of thousands of young people in over 400 local Hubs across the country. Just a few years since our launch, the Movement has built unprecedented popular support for the Green New Deal, ensuring it will be the prominent feature of the 2022 elections.

Sunrise Long Beach can consider your race for endorsement. Please answer the questions provided to be considered.

Applications are due by 4/10/22. Endorsements are expected to be announced by 4/25/22.

The unhoused are exposed to a disproportionate petrochemical pollution burden, and, unlike the housed, are not able to escape extreme weather events through seeking refuge in climate-controlled shelter. What steps do you think are necessary to address our homeless crisis?(Required)

Housing affordability is a major issue in Long Beach and contributes to our homelessness crisis. How would you propose to alleviate the shortage of affordable housing?(Required)

In Long Beach, industrial oil drilling and storage operations encroach on communities and cause real impacts on the health of our community. Do you support a setback of 2500 feet or more between these industrial operations and sensitive uses (homes, schools, elderly care facilities, etc)?
